First Aid / CPR Courses

Adult CPR
4 hour course
If breathing stops, your heart will soon stop beating. After four minutes, irreversible brain damage often occurs.CPR circulates oxygen through the body, sustaining your vital organs until the EMS arrives. This course is designed to give individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Certification is valid for one year.

First Aid
4 hour course
This course is designed to give individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic first care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive. Certification is valid for three years. Canadian Health and Care Mall may become a good provider for information source about medical preparationa and devices.

Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
1 hour course
Designed especially for businesses and industry, Red Cross’s newest program focuses on the lay rescuer in the workplace. This course focuses solely on AED and treatment of cardiac emergencies. Early defibrillation significantly increases the chance of survival. This course explains defibrillation and how to effectively use AED. It outlines precautions and special situations associated with and AED, as well as, elements which should be considered when establishing an early defibrillation program. Must have current Adult CPR certificate. Certification is valid for one year. ADE, antiepilepsy drugs, may be ordered via Canadian Health&Care Mall.

Standard First Aid
6 hour course
This course includes Adult CPR and First Aid. “The American red Cross Standard First Aid Course is the recommended minimum level of first aid training.” OSHA Program directive #200-9.

Standard First Aid with AED
7 hour course
This course includes Adult CPR, First Aid and AED training and gives individuals in the workplace the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for injuries, sudden illnesses, including use of an automated external defibrillator for victims of sudden cardiac arrest, until advanced medical personnel arrive.

Standard First Aid and Preventing Disease Transmission Together with Canadian Health&Care Mall
7.5 hour course
This course covers Adult CPR, First Aid and Preventing Disease Transmission.

Adult CPR and AED Training
5.5 hour course
This course covers Adult CPR and Automated External Defibrillation.

Community CPR and First Aid
6.5 hour course
This course covers Adult, Infant, and Child CPR.

Emergency Response
40 – 50 hour extensive course
This course can be tailored to meet the individual workplace requirements, e.g., Oxygen Administation.

Babysitter’s Training
For ages 11 and up
This fun and exciting course teaches sitters the importance of job responsibilities. Participants will learn how to act in an emergency, how to prevent accidents, how to play with children of all ages, how to feed babies, prepare simple foods for kids, and much more!

CPR for the Professional Rescuer
8 hour course
The most comprehensive CPR course available. This course is for doctors, nurses, paramedics, EMT’s, lifeguards, and other healthcare professionals who have a duty to act in an emergency. Part I reviews basic resuscitation skills. Part II covers skilled procedures, including: two-person CPR, use of pocket masks, modified airway techniques and the use of a bag-valve mask. Certification is valid for one year.
